The workhorse engineering compound for brackets, housings, under-hood and metal replacement. We source PA6 and PA66 from GF15 to GF50, in natural, black and the additive packages your spec calls for.
Get a quote on glass-filled nylonAdding glass fiber to nylon multiplies its stiffness and strength and lifts its heat deflection temperature dramatically, which is why PA66 GF30 and PA6 GF30 are among the most-used engineering compounds in the world. PA66 gives more heat resistance; PA6 gives a better surface finish and is a little easier to process. Specs usually call out the base resin, glass percentage and additive package (heat stabilized, impact modified, hydrolysis resistant, lubricated, flame retardant). Send us yours and we’ll match it.
| Heat (HDT @ 1.8 MPa) | PA66 GF30 ~250°C · PA6 GF30 ~200–210°C |
|---|---|
| Stiffness | High; drops when conditioned (moisture) |
| Strength | High; lower when conditioned |
| Density | ~1.35–1.38 g/cm³ |
| Moisture | Absorbs water; less growth than unfilled nylon |
| Relative cost | Moderate |
