PTFE supplier: molding powders and filled compounds
Polytetrafluoroethylene resists nearly every chemical, serves to 260°C, and has the lowest friction of any solid polymer.

About PTFE
PTFE is the original fluoropolymer and still the reference point for chemical inertness, non-stick behavior and electrical insulation. It does not melt and flow like other thermoplastics, so it is not injection molded or conventionally extruded: parts are compression molded and sintered, ram extruded, or paste extruded from fine powder. Unfilled PTFE creeps under load, which is why seals and bearings usually run a filled compound. If you need the same resistance in a molded part, look at PFA.
Common applications
- Seals, gaskets and valve seats
- Bearings, bushings and slide pads
- Stock shapes: rod, sheet and tube
- Thread-seal tape and expanded membranes
- Wire insulation and hose liners
- Low-friction additive in other resins

How PTFE compares
| PTFE | PFA | UHMW-PE | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Continuous use temperature | ~260°C | ~260°C | ~80°C |
| Chemical resistance | Outstanding | Outstanding | Very good |
| Strength and stiffness | Low; creeps under load | Low; flexible | Low stiffness; outstanding abrasion resistance |
| Processing | Molded and sintered; does not melt-process | Injection and extrusion | Compression molded or ram extruded |
| Relative cost | Moderate to high | Very high | Low to moderate |
Property ranges are general guidance and vary by grade and supplier; a polymer chemist confirms the exact spec against the data sheet and certificate of analysis for your application.

Tell us the PTFE grade you run now
A polymer chemist reviews every request, then matches your grade or finds a qualified equivalent and prices it.
What to send for an accurate quote
- The grade name, from any supplier, or a data sheet
- Color (natural, black or a custom match)
- Fill type and percentage, if any
- Melt flow, if you know it
- Quantity for this order and what you use in a year
- Ship-to city and state or province
