About Polycarbonate (PC)

Polycarbonate is the go-to when you need transparency and impact in the same part, or when a glazing/lens has to survive abuse. It handles heat better than acrylic and is dimensionally stable. Polycarbonate is notch-sensitive and prone to stress cracking: alkaline cleaners, ammonia and amines, aromatic and chlorinated solvents, ketones, esters and fuels can craze or crack stressed parts, and long exposure to hot water degrades it. Check every chemical the part will touch.
