About PFA
PFA is a fully fluorinated resin with the chemical resistance, non-stick surface and temperature range of PTFE, in a form that melts and flows. That makes it the choice for molded fittings, tubing and linings that carry aggressive or high-purity fluids. It is the most expensive of the common melt-processable fluoropolymers, and it needs corrosion-resistant tooling and high melt temperatures, so it pays to use it only where FEP or ETFE fall short.
Common applications
- High-purity tubing, fittings and valves
- Lined pipe, pumps and vessels for chemical service
- High-temperature wire and cable insulation
- Heat-exchanger tubing
- Labware and sample containers
- Release and non-stick film

| Continuous use temperature | ~260°C | ~200°C | ~260°C |
| Chemical resistance | Outstanding | Outstanding | Outstanding |
| Strength and stiffness | Low; flexible | Low; flexible | Low; creeps under load |
| Processing | Injection and extrusion | Extrusion and injection | Molded and sintered; does not melt-process |
| Relative cost | Very high | High | Moderate to high |
Property ranges are general guidance and vary by grade and supplier; a polymer chemist confirms the exact spec against the data sheet and certificate of analysis for your application.

Tell us the PFA grade you run now
A polymer chemist reviews every request, then matches your grade or finds a qualified equivalent and prices it.
What to send for an accurate quote
- The grade name, from any supplier, or a data sheet
- Color (natural, black or a custom match)
- Fill type and percentage, if any
- Melt flow, if you know it
- Quantity for this order and what you use in a year
- Ship-to city and state or province
Tell us how you process your PFA
Send the PFA grade, the process (molding, tube, wire or lining) and volume; a polymer chemist reviews it before we quote.
