Request a QuoteThe short answer
Zytel 70G33L NC010 is a 33% glass fiber reinforced polyamide 66 (PA66-GF33), lubricated with a release agent, sold for injection molding. Zytel was a DuPont line; Celanese acquired it with most of DuPont's Mobility & Materials business on November 1, 2022. Like most nylons, it has no published melt flow rate; Celanese gives a viscosity number of 157 cm³/g (ISO 307). Density is 1.39 g/cm³ (ISO 1183), and heat deflection is 252°C / 486°F at 1.8 MPa. Grades from other producers to ask about include Vydyne R533H NT, Ultramid A3EG6 and Durethan AKV 30 H2.0. They are not identical, so compare the data sheets and run a trial before switching.

Zytel 70G33L specs from the data sheet
Typical values from Celanese's current Zytel 70G33L NC010 grade data in its Chemille materials database (checked October 2026). Where the older DuPont-era sheet differs, the current Celanese value is shown. Processing settings come from the DuPont-era sheet because Celanese's public grade page does not list them. Dry / conditioned values are shown where the data gives both. Typical values are not specifications; the lot COA shows what you actually receive. Values only compare at the same test method and condition.

Grades to ask about instead of Zytel 70G33L
These grades from other producers have similar published specs. None is a drop-in replacement: additive packages, flow at molding shear rates, color and approvals differ. If your part, drawing or customer approval names Zytel 70G33L, any change needs your approval and usually a trial.
| Grade | Producer | Melt flow | Density | Key property | How it compares |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vydyne R533H NT | Ascend Performance Materials | Not published | 1.40 g/cm³ (ISO 1183) | Tensile modulus 10,600 / 7,900 MPa dry / conditioned (ISO 527); stress at break 205 MPa dry; HDT 250°C at 1.8 MPa (ISO 75) | Closest match on glass level: 33% glass PA66, lubricated, with improved flow. It is also heat stabilized; the 70G33L sheet lists only lubricant and release agent as additives. Ascend's sheet lists FDA 21 CFR 177.1500 and EU 10/2011 among agency ratings; ask Ascend for a letter. Quote this alternative › |
| Ultramid A3EG6 | BASF | MVR 30 cm³/10 min (275°C / 527°F, 5 kg, ISO 1133) | 1.36 g/cm³ (ISO 1183) | Tensile modulus 10,000 / 7,200 MPa dry / conditioned (ISO 527); stress at break 190 MPa dry; HDT 250°C at 1.8 MPa | Partial match. 30% glass, not 33%, so slightly lower stiffness and strength. BASF lists machinery components, housings, fans and cooling-system water containers among its uses. Quote this alternative › |
| Durethan AKV 30 H2.0 | Envalior (former LANXESS line) | Not published | 1.36 g/cm³ (ISO 1183) | Tensile modulus 10,000 MPa; tensile strength at break 175 MPa (ISO 527); HDT 240°C at 1.8 MPa (ISO 75); conditioning not stated | Partial match. 30% glass PA66 with heat-aging stabilizer. Values come from a distributor copy that does not say dry or conditioned; ask Envalior for the current sheet. Quote this alternative › |

Typical uses for Zytel 70G33L
From the producer's data sheet and published listings:
- Stiff, strong injection-molded parts that need glass-filled PA66 (the producer describes 70G33L only as a 33% glass PA66 for injection molding)
- The Zytel family is listed for automotive, furniture, domestic appliance, sporting goods and construction parts
- Parts that need high heat deflection for a PA66: HDT 252°C at 1.8 MPa (ISO 75). HDT is a short-term test, not a use temperature; the older DuPont-era sheet listed UL RTI of 120–130°C at 0.8 mm (confirm the current UL listing)
What to check before you switch
- Glass level: 70G33L has 33% glass. A 30% grade such as Ultramid A3EG6 or Durethan AKV 30 H2.0 is a little less stiff and strong; check deflection-critical features and snap fits.
- Stabilizer package: Celanese lists lubricant and release agent for 70G33L, with no heat stabilizer. Vydyne R533H and Durethan AKV 30 H2.0 add heat stabilizer, which can change color and long-term heat aging. If your drawing calls out a heat-stabilized grade, ask Celanese which Zytel code it calls for; it is not 70G33L.
- Glass-filled nylon shrinks differently along and across flow (0.3 % vs. 1.1 % for 70G33L). Compare both directions, and warp, on first articles.
- Compare dry-as-molded to dry-as-molded. Modulus drops from 10,000 to 8,000 MPa when 70G33L is conditioned; see nylon swelling and moisture.
- Nylon must be dry before molding: the sheet asks for 80°C for 2–4 hours to below 0.2 % moisture. See our resin drying guide.
- Compare melt flow, density and impact only at the same test condition and method (ASTM vs. ISO results differ).
- Ask for the producer's food-contact or regulatory letter for the exact grade if the part needs one.
- Run a trial lot and check shrinkage, cycle time and appearance before you switch production.
Buying Zytel 70G33L: price, lead time and lot size
- Lot size. From one gaylord to a railcar. See gaylord, LTL and truckload for typical weights per box.
- Where it ships from. 22+ partner warehouse locations. Material already in a partner warehouse usually moves sooner than a grade that has to come from the producer; your quote says which applies.
- Price. We do not publish prices because they move with feedstock, freight and order size. What moves your price most: lot size, color, ship-to region, and whether you need Zytel 70G33L itself or can accept a matched alternative. See how resin is priced and the monthly market update.
- Paperwork. Supplier COA on every prime lot (what a COA shows). Ask for the producer’s regulatory letter or UL file if your part needs them.
- Trying an alternative? Start with one gaylord as a trial lot, molded and checked before you commit a full release.
- If Zytel 70G33L itself is not available. Some branded grades are sold only through the producer’s own channels or go on allocation. If we cannot source it, we tell you, then quote a matched alternative with a side-by-side comparison.
Send the grade code, your annual volume and ship-to location. A polymer chemist checks it before we quote; we have been in the resin business for 30+ years. For several grades at once, use the resin RFQ template.
