The short answer
Type the trade name from a print, data sheet or bag label. The decoder tells you what plastic it is, who makes it, and which of our guides covers that plastic. A brand name tells you the family, not the exact grade: to find an equivalent you also need the grade number or data sheet.
304 brands. Partial names work. You can also type a plastic (nylon, PBT) or a producer.
How to use it
- Type the brand, or the first few letters. Results show the plastic family, the producer and any common forms (glass-filled, flame-retardant and so on).
- Find the grade number. The brand is only the first word. The letters and numbers after it (fill, flow, color, additives) decide what the material actually is. The material code decoder explains codes like PA66-GF30 printed on parts.
- Open the guide for that plastic to see grades, processing and what to put on a purchase order.
- Ask for the same grade or an equivalent. Send the grade name or data sheet, and a polymer chemist will quote the same grade where available or a qualified equivalent.
A brand is not a grade
Two brands of the same plastic are not automatically interchangeable, and two grades under one brand can be very different materials. Before you treat one as a replacement for another, compare the data sheets for:
- Fill and reinforcement: glass, mineral or carbon, and how much
- Melt flow at the same test conditions
- Shrinkage, both along and across the flow for filled grades
- Additives: heat stabilizer, UV stabilizer, flame retardant, lubricant, impact modifier
- Listings and documents: UL recognition, food-contact letters and automotive approvals belong to a specific grade and color, not to the brand
See how to find an equivalent resin grade and running a different resin in your mold.
Why brand names change
Resin businesses are bought, sold and merged often, and brands move with them. A name on an older print may now belong to a different company, and some producers rename or merge their brands. When ownership changed recently, the producer column shows the current owner and, where useful, the former one. If a name on your print is not in the list, it may be retired, regional or a compounder’s private label; send it to us and we will look it up.

Producer and brand details were checked against producers’ published information in October 2026. Brands change hands; confirm on the producer’s site before you rely on ownership details.
Trademarks and independence
All trade names on this page are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify their products. ResinBridge is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any producer listed. A listing here does not mean we stock that brand. We can quote the same grade where it is available to us, or a qualified equivalent, and we will tell you which one you are getting.
What to send us
- The full grade name from the print, data sheet or label, including the letters and numbers after the brand
- A photo of the bag label or the data sheet, if you have it
- What the part is and any listings it needs (UL, food contact, automotive)
- Quantity and ship-to city
A polymer chemist reviews every request. Every lot ships with a COA, and orders start at one gaylord. We aim to send your quote within one to three business days.
Common questions
What plastic is a resin trade name?
Type the name into the decoder above. It shows the plastic family (for example PBT or nylon 66), the company that makes it, and common forms such as glass-filled or flame-retardant grades. The grade number after the brand tells you the exact material.
Are two brands of the same plastic interchangeable?
Not automatically. Grades differ in fill, melt flow, shrinkage, additives and listings. Compare the data sheets, and for UL, food-contact or automotive parts, check that the replacement grade carries the same listing or approval.
How do I find an equivalent to a branded resin grade?
Start from the grade’s data sheet, not the brand. Match the base polymer, fill type and level, melt flow, key properties and any listings, then run a trial. Send us the grade name and a polymer chemist will propose the same grade or a qualified equivalent.
Why does my resin’s brand belong to a different company now?
Resin businesses are often sold or merged, and the brands move with them. Some producers also rename or combine brands. The decoder lists the current owner as of October 2026.
Can you supply a specific brand?
Often. Send the full grade name. We quote the same grade where it is available to us, or a qualified equivalent, and we tell you which one you are getting. ResinBridge is not affiliated with any producer listed.
Tell us the grade on your print
A polymer chemist reviews every request, then matches your grade or finds a qualified equivalent and prices it.
What to send for an accurate quote
- The grade name, from any supplier, or a data sheet
- Color (natural, black or a custom match)
- Fill type and percentage, if any
- Melt flow, if you know it
- Quantity for this order and what you use in a year
- Ship-to city and state or province
