Grade rename lookupVelogy grade names: old LyondellBasell to new
163 grades from the four European sites LyondellBasell sold to AEQUITA, renamed in Aug 2026.
The short answer
LyondellBasell sold four European polyolefin sites (Berre, Muenchsmuenster, Carrington and Tarragona) to AEQUITA. The sale closed May 1, 2026 and the business now runs as Velogy. In customer letters dated Aug 3, 2026, Velogy renamed the grades made at those sites into three families: AdvyForm, CertyForm (healthcare, former Purell) and KeyForm. Velogy says only the name changed, not the product or the plant. LyondellBasell keeps its brands and still sells them from its other plants, including in the Americas.

Does this affect buyers in the Americas?
Mostly not. Velogy describes itself as a European producer. If you buy Moplen, Hostalen, Purell or other LyondellBasell grades made in North America, the names stay the same. If your material was imported from one of the four European sites, check your COA for the plant and ask your seller which name you will see from now on.
What to do if your paperwork shows an old name
- Update drawings, bills of material, purchase specs and ERP item records to the new name, and keep the old name as a reference.
- Ask your seller for a letter confirming the new name is the same product, made at the same plant.
- Check that UL, FDA and other regulatory letters list the new name, or that the producer confirms they still apply.
- Compare the new data sheet with your old one line by line. If any value changed, treat it as a material change.

Questions
What is Velogy?
Velogy is the European polyolefins business AEQUITA formed from four sites it bought from LyondellBasell. The sale closed May 1, 2026.
Did the products change?
Velogy says only the names changed, not the product or the plant. Ask for the equivalence letter for your grade and compare data sheets.
Is Purell now CertyForm?
Purell grades made at the four European sites were renamed CertyForm. LyondellBasell keeps the Purell brand and still sells Purell from its other plants.
Quick quote
Need one of these grades, or an Americas-made equivalent?
Send the old or new grade name. A polymer chemist confirms it and quotes it, or suggests an alternative with what differs.
