Request a QuoteThe short answer
Valox 325 is a general-purpose, unreinforced polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) for injection molding, with improved processing per SABIC’s data sheet. In the Americas and Europe, Valox is now sold by NexPoint Materials, the former SABIC engineering thermoplastics business that Mutares bought in a deal that closed August 3, 2026. SABIC’s Americas sheet lists specific gravity 1.31 (ASTM D792), tensile strength 51.7 MPa (7,500 psi) at yield (ASTM D638) and HDT 54.4°C / 130°F at 1.8 MPa (ASTM D648, 6.4 mm); SABIC’s international sheet gives MVR 14 cm³/10 min at 250°C / 482°F, 2.16 kg (ISO 1133). Grades from other producers to ask about include Ultradur B4520, Celanex 2002 and Crastin S600F10. They are not identical, so compare the data sheets and run a trial before switching.
Also written as: VALOX 325 resin. Data sheet hosts also list VALOX 325F and VALOX 325FC, which have their own data sheets. Quote the full code from your drawing or bag label; color and additive suffixes change the grade.

Valox 325 specs from the data sheet
Typical values from SABIC’s Americas data sheet for Valox 325 (UL Yellow Card E121562-220785), as reproduced by a data sheet host, with melt flow from SABIC’s international sheet for the same grade. Typical values are not specifications; the lot COA shows what you actually receive. Values only compare at the same test method and condition.

Grades to ask about instead of Valox 325
These grades from other producers have similar published specs. None is a drop-in replacement: additive packages, flow at molding shear rates, color and approvals differ. If your part, drawing or customer approval names Valox 325, any change needs your approval and usually a trial.
| Grade | Producer | Melt flow | Density | Key property | How it compares |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ultradur B4520 | BASF | MVR 20 cm³/10 min (250°C / 482°F, 2.16 kg, ISO 1133) | 1.30 g/cm³ (ISO 1183) | Yield stress 55 MPa (ISO 527); HDT 55°C at 1.8 MPa (ISO 75); notched Izod 50 J/m (ASTM D256) | Close match. Standard unreinforced PBT with similar strength, HDT and Izod and somewhat higher flow (MVR 20 vs 14 at the same condition). BASF lists a 40–70°C mold and drying at 80–120°C for 4 h to 0.04% moisture, looser than SABIC’s 0.02%. Quote this alternative › |
| Celanex 2002 | Celanese | MVR 18 cm³/10 min (250°C / 482°F, 2.16 kg, ISO 1133) | 1.31 g/cm³ (ASTM D792, ISO 1183) | Tensile strength at yield 55.8 MPa at 23°C (ASTM D638); HDT 55°C at 1.8 MPa; notched Charpy 6 kJ/m² (ISO 179/1eA) | Close match. Celanese calls it a general-purpose, medium-flow unreinforced PBT. Flow is close (MVR 18 vs 14). Celanese gives drying at 120–130°C for 4 h to 0.02% and a 65–93°C mold, hotter than SABIC’s range. | Crastin S600F10 NC010 | Celanese | MFR 10 g/10 min (250°C / 482°F, 2.16 kg, ISO 1133) | 1.30 g/cm³ (ISO 1183) | Yield stress 57 MPa (ISO 527); HDT 50°C at 1.8 MPa (ISO 75); contains mold release | Partial match. Higher-viscosity unreinforced PBT developed for extrusion and injection molding, so it fills thin walls less easily than Valox 325. Typical uses for Valox 325
From SABIC’s Valox 325 data sheet:
- Sprinklers and nozzles
- Pumps
- Door handles
- Tank covers
- Pens and pencils
What to check before you switch
- Confirm who supplies your Valox 325 now. In the Americas and Europe it comes from NexPoint Materials; older approvals, COAs and UL files may still say SABIC. Ask for the current data sheet with your quote.
- Check flow. Ultradur B4520 and Celanex 2002 flow somewhat more than Valox 325 at 250°C / 2.16 kg; Crastin S600F10 flows less. A big flow change can shift fill, pack and shrink.
- Unreinforced PBT shrinks about 1–2.4% on the Valox sheet, depending on wall and direction. Check critical dimensions on first articles.
- For outdoor parts, Valox 325 carries a UL 746C f1 rating on the Americas sheet. Confirm any alternative has its own.
- Moisture limits differ by sheet (0.02% for SABIC and Celanese, 0.04% for BASF). Dry to the stricter number if you run more than one grade.
- Ask for the producer’s food-contact or regulatory letter for the exact grade if the part needs one.
- Run a trial lot and check shrinkage, cycle time and appearance before you switch production.
Buying Valox 325: price, lead time and lot size
- Lot size. From one gaylord to a railcar. See gaylord, LTL and truckload for typical weights per box.
- Where it ships from. 22+ partner warehouse locations. Material already in a partner warehouse usually moves sooner than a grade that has to come from the producer; your quote says which applies.
- Price. We do not publish prices because they move with feedstock, freight and order size. What moves your price most: lot size, color, ship-to region, and whether you need Valox 325 itself or can accept a matched alternative. See how resin is priced and the monthly market update.
- Paperwork. Supplier COA on every prime lot (what a COA shows). Ask for the producer’s regulatory letter or UL file if your part needs them.
- Trying an alternative? Start with one gaylord as a trial lot, molded and checked before you commit a full release.
- If Valox 325 itself is not available. Some branded grades are sold only through the producer’s own channels or go on allocation. If we cannot source it, we tell you, then quote a matched alternative with a side-by-side comparison.
Send the grade code, your annual volume and ship-to location. A polymer chemist checks it before we quote; we have been in the resin business for 30+ years. For several grades at once, use the resin RFQ template.
Trade names belong to their owners. ResinBridge is not affiliated with these producers; grade names are used only to identify the material. Data reflects published sheets as of October 2026.
