Grades to ask about instead of Delrin 100P
These grades from other producers have similar published specs. None is a drop-in replacement: additive packages, flow at molding shear rates, color and approvals differ. If your part, drawing or customer approval names Delrin 100P, any change needs your approval and usually a trial.
| Grade | Producer | Melt flow | Density | Key property | How it compares |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hostaform C 2521 | Celanese | MFR 2.8 g/10 min; MVR 2.5 cm³/10 min (190 °C / 2.16 kg, ISO 1133) | 1.41 g/cm³ (0.0509 lb/in³) | Tensile modulus 2600 MPa (377,000 psi); Charpy notched 23 °C 8.5 kJ/m² (4.04 ft-lb/in²); HDT 1.8 MPa 101 °C (214 °F) | Similar melt flow, but this is an acetal copolymer, not a homopolymer. The sheet shows a lower melting point (165 °C vs 178 °C), lower stiffness and lower notched impact than Delrin 100P, and slightly different shrinkage. Its sheet says its monomers and additives are listed in EU Regulation 10/2011 and that it is FDA compliant to 21 CFR 177.2470; the Delrin 100P record makes no food contact statement. Not a drop-in replacement: requalify the part and the mold. |
| Ultraform H2320 006 AT | BASF | MVR 2.9 cm³/10 min (190 °C / 2.16 kg, ISO 1133); MFR not shown on the sheet | 1.41 g/cm³ (1410 kg/m³) | Tensile modulus 2600 MPa; yield stress 62 MPa; Charpy notched 23 °C 6.5 kJ/m²; HDT 1.8 MPa 95 °C | BASF describes this as a high-molecular-weight grade for relatively thick-walled moldings (its ISO 29988 designation, POM-K, marks it as a copolymer), so flow is in the same range as Delrin 100P, but it is a copolymer with a 165 °C melting point and lower yield stress and notched impact on its sheet. The code on the sheet carries an AT suffix; confirm the exact regional code with BASF. Not a drop-in replacement. |

Typical uses for Delrin 100P
Delrin describes 100P as a high viscosity acetal homopolymer for easy-to-fill molds, combining toughness and strength with improved processing thermal stability, injection molding productivity and low VOC emissions. Delrin acetal resins in general are used in automotive, domestic appliance, sports, industrial engineering, electronics and consumer goods applications.
What to check before you switch
- Confirm customer drawings and approvals: many prints call out acetal homopolymer specifically, and a copolymer substitute may need written approval.
- Compare shrinkage on the actual tool; acetal shrinks a lot, and small differences between grades can move critical dimensions.
- Match the color code: NC010 is natural; black or colored versions can have different property data.
- Check the additive package (Delrin lists lubricants and a release agent for 100P) if wear, release or emissions matter.
- Follow each producer's drying and melt temperature guidance; homopolymer and copolymer windows are not the same.
Buying Delrin 100P or an equivalent
Send us the grade name, your annual volume and ship-to location. A polymer chemist checks the data sheet and we quote Delrin 100P where we can source it, or a qualified equivalent, saying clearly which one you would get. Orders start at one gaylord. For background on this resin family see Acetal grades and buying guide; for several grades at once, use the resin RFQ template.
Trade names belong to their owners. ResinBridge is not affiliated with these producers; grade names are used only to identify the material. Data reflects published sheets as of October 2026.

Common questions
What is Delrin 100P?
Delrin 100P NC010 is a high viscosity, unfilled acetal homopolymer in natural color, made by Delrin USA, LLC. The producer positions it for easy-to-fill molds where toughness, strength and stable processing matter.
What is the melt flow of Delrin 100P?
The producer database lists a melt mass-flow rate of 2.5 g/10 min and a melt volume-flow rate of 2.1 cm³/10 min, both at 190 °C under a 2.16 kg load (ISO 1133).
What is equivalent to Delrin 100P?
Celanese Hostaform C 2521 and BASF Ultraform H2320 006 AT have similar published melt flow and density, but both are acetal copolymers, not homopolymers, and neither is a drop-in replacement. Any switch needs part and process validation.
Is Delrin 100P food contact compliant or UL listed?
The Delrin 100P NC010 record does not state food contact compliance, so ask Delrin directly. Delrin lists a separate grade, Delrin FG100P NC010, described as developed for food contact applications. For flammability, the record shows UL 94 HB at 1.5 mm and 0.8 mm with UL recognition listed as yes.
Can ResinBridge quote Delrin 100P?
Yes. Send the grade name and volume. A polymer chemist checks it and we quote the grade where we can source it, or a qualified equivalent, and say which. Orders start at one gaylord; U.S. and Canada only.
Need Delrin 100P or an equivalent?
A polymer chemist reviews every request, then matches your grade or finds a qualified equivalent and prices it.
